Life changes can feel overwhelming. Even positive transitions can bring uncertainty, stress, and emotional strain. Many people find that periods of change—whether expected or unexpected—can leave them feeling unsettled, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward.

Throughout life, significant transitions are inevitable. Experiences such as marriage, becoming a parent, or starting a new job are often viewed as positive, yet they still require adjustment and can carry emotional weight. Other transitions—such as moving, retirement, job loss, separation or divorce, grief following the death of a loved one, or entering the “empty nest” stage—can be particularly challenging and may increase stress, anxiety, or feelings of loss.

Martin Therapy offers supportive mental health services to help individuals navigate life transitions with clarity and care. Services are provided by a Registered Social Worker and include online and phone counselling.

Sessions are 60 minutes in length. Many extended health insurance plans provide coverage for social work services. We do not direct bill. If you are new to Martin Therapy, a complimentary 15-minute consultation is recommended as a first step.
